Detail change of the engine

I worked on the revision of the engine
The big changes are as follows
1. I remade a head cover (the position change of the fixed bolt. the shape change of the lip. reduction of the overall height)
2. Change of the intake manifold. (I change an in take department shape of it and enlarge a pipe diameter)
3. Change of the connection of the fuel pipe (it is not the last adjustment and has both the characteristics of right and left temporarily now)
4. Shape change of the front part case (I thinned some leaders)
This engine resembles an engine of Piaggio P.C.7, but the case retainer is a totally different shape. The plumbing system is different with it, too.

エンジンの改訂作業をしました
大きな変更点は以下の通りです。
1.ヘッドカバーの形状変更(固定ボルトの位置変更。リップの形状変更。全高の削減)
2.インテークマニホールド変更(インテーク部形状変更。パイプ径を拡大)
3.燃料パイプの接続(最終調整ではない。現在は暫定的に左右の特徴を併せ持つ)
4.前部ケースの形状変更(先端部を若干細くした)
このエンジンはPiaggio P.C.7のエンジンと似ているが、ケース下部はまったく別の形状です。それに伴い配管系も異なります。

The temporary assembling of the engine.
The engine is “Isotta Fraschini Cantilever” similar to it which was used for Piaggio Pegna P.C.7.
The big difference is a shape of the oil pans, and it is connected to a frame directly.

エンジンの仮組。
エンジンはPiaggio Pegna P.C.7に使用されたエンジンと酷似した『Isotta Fraschini Cantilever』です。
大きな違いはオイルパンの形状で、それはフレームにダイレクトに接続されます。

I do not have a structure drawing.
Therefore I suppose most from a photograph.
Three pipes supporting the engine of “the cantilever” penetrate the body.
A float prop connects with the pipe.
The structure to support a tension line supporting a wing is necessary.
It is thought that they combined a pipe with a partition without waste.
An engine partition sandwiches the cockpit.

Completion

It finally was completed.

Memo
* As for the engine, Isotta Fraschini, Asso is special.
It resembles an engine “cantilever” used for Savoia S.65.
* A wing and the front hydrofoil are right and left asymmetry
(these support torque)
* The hull has an opening and shutting-type air in take in the side. (I confirm a window two type and a window three type)
* A clutch sandwiches front and back of the engine (for air propeller use and the water screw)
[important] Pilot needs three arms to change this at the time of a takeoff.
* The exhaust pipe confirms a long type and a short type. I choice long type (an improved model?).
* The biggest mystery. I do not know where is the sensor (Pitot tube) of the air speed instrument in. (is this because it was abandoned before completion?)
* The clutch assumes a spring expression.
* Thanks for cooperation of Mr. Giambattista.

*エンジンはイソッタ・フラスキーニ・アッソ改。サヴォイアS.65に使用されたエンジンと同時期に開発された「カンチレバー」に酷似しています。
*翼は左右非対称
*前部水中翼は左右非対称
*開閉式のエアインテークと思われる窓を持つ(窓2つタイプと、窓3つタイプを確認)
*エンジンの前後をクラッチが挟む(プロペラ用とスクリュー用)
離陸時にこれを切り替えるため、パイロットは腕が三本必要。
*エクゾーストは長いタイプと短いタイプを確認。今回は長いタイプ(改良型?)を選択。
*最大の謎。エアスピード計器のセンサー(ピトー管)がどこにつくのか分からない。(完成前に放棄されたからか?)
*クラッチはスプリング式を想定。
*Giambattista氏の協力に感謝。

Finally ready for final rendering is now ready. 10000 × 10000-pixel rendering takes about 10 hours. I must wait for the weekend without work.
いよいよ最終レンダリング。1万ピクセル×1万ピクセルのレンダリングに約10時間かかります。
仕事のない週末を待たねばなりません。
